Jim White
FEGA Master Engraver
Born and raised in central Kansas, Jim soon became passionate about hunting and firearms. Building his first rifle at age 17, he continued to build and use his own firearms after a stint in the US Army.
Eventually trading stock work for some used engraving equipment, he began engraving in 1983. After moving from Kansas to Alaska in 1991, and with encouragement and support from his wife Rebecca, he began engraving full time. In 2000 he became a master engraver in the Firearms Engravers Guild of America. In 2001 he guilded in metal in the American Custom Gunmakers Guild.
Since then Jim has engraved hundreds of firearms and knives for himself and others, as well as continuing to hunt and adventure in Alaska.
In addition to handling exhibition level commissions, Jim is one of the few FEGA masters doing high quality production hand engraving for several manufacturing companies.
