E Pluribus Unum Revolver
From time to time the blog will suffer as I get engraving projects that require all my time. I’ll use some Instagram posts to fill in. Thanks for understanding.
Another of my working Ruger revolvers. I found parts and pieces at gun shows. The frame was from a Super Blackhawk .44 Magnum (it says 45 Blackhawk on the frame because I changed it). I wanted to make a reasonably light weight packing handgun. I machined the recoil shield and loading gate to reduce weight. A 45 LC stainless cylinder, stainless barrel at 3 3/4”, and an aluminum grip frame, and aluminum ejector rod housing. I radiused the butt and added some cheap rosewood grips. Then I lightly engraved it, and sent the frame off to be hard chromed. Thus you see the differences in color between various parts. I often used it as a loaner if a friend without his own firearm accompanied me on a backpacking hunt. Weighs 33 ounces. I found the Wenger Swiss Army knife on the trail one day, cleaned it up, and then added a brass medallion for engraving. It may be from parts and pieces, but it performs quite well
